About the Event

From September 30 to October 4, Lviv will host discussions on the resilience of Ukrainian communities. Organised in partnership with U_CAN's "Institute of the City," this event brings together businesses, researchers, and experts to discuss preparing local communities for blackouts and adapting to the broader challenges of war.

The war has jeopardized key life-support systems such as energy supply, water management, and waste handling. Despite these challenges, Ukrainian cities are continuing to develop long-term strategies, integrating European "green transition" standards. This year, the Local Government Forum brings together several key sectoral events under one unified brand — Ukrainian Resilience Week:

The Forum will feature the following events:

  1. IX Lviv Eco Forum (October 1-2) — Focused on water supply, waste management, and innovative environmental approaches.

  2. Heat Energy Forum (October 1-3) — Discussions on maintaining a stable heat supply amidst war and climate change, with an emphasis on energy efficiency.

  3. Financial Sustainability and Economic Development of Communities Forum — Experts will share strategies for economic stability, attracting investments, and international development funding.

  4. IX Lviv Eco Forum: Waste Management (October 2) — Tackling waste recycling and minimization amid wartime challenges.

  5. XV all-Ukrainian Condominium Forum — Discussions on housing reforms, safety, energy efficiency in multi-apartment buildings, and alternative investment paths.
