Brief Description
City Institute is a strategic planning and development center of Lviv. Our mission is to join together the efforts of the Lviv City Council, business, public organizations, academic communities and residents of Lviv to achieve development goals of the city. City Institute is a platform for gathering experts at the national and international level, publishes in-depth analytical reports, articles, ratings, forecasts and conducts sociological research. Institution actively cooperates with international institutions to solve urgent problems of the city by implementing projects, participates in national and international tenders and initiates national and international events. We have a long-term experience of participation in European Commission projects and participates in 7 projects: SPARCS (Horizon 2020 programme), DISTENDER and U-CAN (Horizon Europe programme), SupportDHC and EnableDHC (LIFE programme), REFOCUS and SPOTLOG (Interreg Europe programme). Within these projects, pilots are being implemented in the context of energy efficiency, mobility, climate neutrality and smart technologies.
Role in the U_CAN Project
Within the project, City Institute coordinates WP4 (Pilot Implementation in Ukraine, supported by European front-runners). Also, City Institute presents a pilot of Lviv as part of the WP 4. As part of the pilot, Institution will implement two projects: Positive energy districts (PED) formation and Strategies and policies integration in context of the European Green Deal.Within the framework of the project, institution provides management of the package and pilots, also contacts with experts in the field of EGD to implement pilot in the city of Lviv.
