Brief Description
Khmelnytskyi National University (KhNU) is a classical university offering 126 Bachelor, Master, and Doctor of Philosophy degree programs in 43 specialties. It has 11 educational, research, and production centres, 24 research schools, graduate and doctoral studies, and three permanent specialized scientific councils. The university publishes eight scientific journals. KhNU's mission is to meet labour market needs with qualified staff, training professionals through advanced educational and computer technologies. It serves as a cooperation platform for employers, students, parents, applicants, and graduates. Known for its information technology development, KhNU pioneered Ukraine's first distance learning programs. In 2018, KhNU installed the first roof solar power station in a state educational institution in Ukraine, making the university energy self-sufficient. KhNU scientists developed solar excess energy storage systems, and the station is used to study solar panel efficiency. Additionally, KhNU actively participates in the international NAWA project "Education for Green Transition."
Role in the U_CAN Project
Khmelnytskyi National University (KhNU) will drive the U-CAN project by implementing adaptive traffic management solutions, leveraging advanced IT and real-time data to reduce emissions. KhNU will lead research, integrate emission reduction technologies, and organize workshops and conferences for knowledge sharing. The university offers research facilities, IT expertise, energy efficiency practices, and international project experience, including the NAWA "Education for Green Transition," to support sustainable urban mobility and ecological improvement.
