The U_CAN project partner, the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (ISKPI), is opening a new laboratory dedicated to renewable energy studies. The opening will take place on February 11, 2025, marking a significant step in implementing the U_CAN project’s goals.
Training Future Energy Specialists
The laboratory will provide education for students specialising in Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics within the programmes:
· Power Supply Systems for Consumers
· Energy Management and Energy-Efficient Technologies
Students will gain fundamental knowledge in the design, connection, and installation of renewable energy systems. Master’s students will also train in specialized software such as RETScreen and SAM.
Modern Laboratory Facilities
The laboratory includes two main areas:
1. Solar Energy Laboratory – Equipped with various generation and storage systems, enabling practical training in inverter functionality, system autonomy, and electrical measurements. Students will gain hands-on experience with solar irradiance sensors, digital power testers for photovoltaic modules, and power quality analysers.
2. Wind Energy Lecture Hall – A dedicated space for lectures and expert discussions on renewable energy technologies.
This initiative highlights ISKPI’s commitment to providing students with practical experience to drive innovation in renewable energy. Join our partners on February 11, 2025, for the official opening and see the future of energy education in action!
