University of L'Aquila presents research at EURO SEC 6 in Turin
In September 2026, U_CAN partner the University of L'Aquila (ULA) participated in EURO SEC 6 “Cutting-edge Technologies and Management in Structural Engineering and Construction”, an international conference held in Turin, Italy, from 7 to 11 September 2026.
ULA researchers Chiara Marchionni, Marianna Rotilio, and Letizia Giusti presented the contribution "Combining life cycle approach and circularity assessment for holistic evaluation of building envelope retrofits." The work explores how life-cycle thinking and circularity assessment can be integrated to support a more comprehensive evaluation of building envelope retrofits, offering a valuable perspective for sustainable and resource-efficient building renovation.
The participation of the ULA team at EURO SEC 6 reflects the broader contribution of the U_CAN project to advancing knowledge and research in the field of sustainable construction and climate-neutral urban development. Building renovation and the assessment of its long-term environmental impact are closely linked to the project's goals of supporting Ukrainian cities on their path to climate neutrality.
